Socket lift - Dental Implants Net

The socket lift procedure allows an increase in bone quantity in cases where the height of the upper jawbone is greater than 5 mm.
The socket is made for implant placement, followed by carefully tapping the bottom of the sinus with a cylindrical instrument called an osteotome to push up the sinus membrane. An artificial bone material or autogenous bone is inserted into the elevated area to increase the bone height.
Due to elevation of the planned implant site, the wound site is smaller than in the sinus lift technique.

Procedures

  • 1.The socket is made for implant placement, followed by carefully tapping the bottom of the sinus with a cylindrical instrument called an osteotome to push up the sinus membrane.
  • 2.An artificial bone material or autogenous bone is inserted into the elevated area to increase the bone height.
  • 3.Once the bone grafts have been integrated with the alveolar bone, the screw is removed.

An implant can be put in place at the same time as the lost bone and tissue are regenerated.
